Day 42: San Alfonso Del Mar >> Valparaiso 🚘
After having some trouble getting into our Airbnb, we spent the night in Alfonso Del Mar. This is home to the world's largest pool at 3,324 ft in length. It's not open for swimming but people can kayak, wind surf, or scuba dive in it.
We made the lap around the giant pool and were frozen. The coast of Chile is very windy and cool, comparable to the climate of NorCal, so we didn't partake in any water sports. We did lay in the sun a bit though. My version of laying out involves more warmth than direct sun exposure (gotta protect my tender skin!). 😎
Once we left the pool, we were off to Valparaiso an hour or so away! After almost an entire day, I discovered it was Valentine's Day and obnoxiously rubbed it into Rob who purposefully didn't bring it up. 🔪 To "celebrate", we went on a sunset walk and came across a piano concert. Afterwards, we went looking for food downtown. Hearts and balloons adorned most restaurants which was sweet to see. Recovering me didn't eat so... #sanalfonsodelmar #worldslargest #worldslargestpool #chile #traveldiary #travel
