REDEMPTION Hawaii State Championships 115 kg. / 253 lb. snatch 147 kg. / 325 lb. clean and jerk 90 kg. / 198 lbs. BW 2nd place (96 kg. Class) There’s so much emotion behind this. From bombing out at the same competition last year, to hurting my hip, it was a long cycle. But tearing my rotator cuff a week before the meet nearly destroyed me. I could barely scratch my own head 3 days out. But with the love and support of those around me, I gathered whatever I could to compete. I cried on my way to the meet because I am so thankful and appreciative for what I’ve been able to overcome. 2nd place in a higher weight class isn’t bad for someone who couldn’t scratch his own head a few days ago. I am blessed beyond words. Back day! My favourite training day, but training doesn’t mean just doing what you like to do, hence these corner T-bar rows. Now to be honest I actually love T-bar rows, but on an actual T-bar machine like the one in my basement. These corner ones I feel very awkward and never seem to find the proper groove for them. We all have that one exercise or movement that our body just doesn’t like the position for, this happens to be mine as you will see in the last vid, I failed at with 7 plates. Now the weight felt ok, not too heavy, but each plate u add extends the position and angle of the weight. Came back from a not so stellar heavy session on Wednesday and crushed my dynamic bench session before heading in to work. Elbow has been bothering me so josh_supzillahilliard hooked me up with this topical magnesium spray that actually killed the inflammation for a bit. Breast Cancer Awareness event , an evening with Dr aiesha_asmadi at Zazen Scalar Lounge. It was not just about cancer and all the medical treatment but it was about this "human being" and the awakening process, evolution and maturity that one goes through when something like cancer strikes your body. Everything is taken away from you, stripped, vulnerable, naked to yourself .....you are left to question everything about yourself and your life and 'life' itself . What makes Dr aiesha_asmadi unique is, she stepped in, she took control over her situation, at least the things within her control and the most beautiful thing she kept saying is only when you help yourself, the universe will come together to help you and hold you. How a young person like her came to such depth of herself, still amazed some of us yesterday. No one left the room untouched or untransformed. Something changed in all of us yesterday and that's the power of one "human being" who was able to transcend her own pain to become a " champion " At Zazen Scalar Lounge ... we hold the space as a transformational space , the scalar energy holds you in a state where you are present, open, non-defensive, balanced, your biology and brain is open to transform. wow! the past week has been hardwork! had meetings that made me very upset and hurt, I've felt confused, angry, sad, frustrated, stressed and alone. I've had muscle spasms in my arms, face and neck pretty much all week. Then last night I went out to dinner with my family and had another memory loss episode, mum told me it was pretty loud and it was hard for me with all the noise, came home with a migraine and a big chunk of my memories of the past couple of weeks are all jumbled but I'm getting better at experiencing that so hopefully those memories come back. BUT I found my ballet slippers! And wow do those shoes make me happy! They remind me of what I love, what I'm passionate about, they give me a reason to press on and keep going... a goal to look forward to. Those shoes fill me with joy. When things get hard look for something positive, a goal to work for, something that inspires you and motivates you to keep going. What did God give you a passion for?? God gives us passions and things that we love and are good at for many reasons... For me its creativity, and being creative has been the best blessing in my life. ... love and light xx ...
