May the month of April be a month of restoration for everything you lost in this season. May the Almighty God continue to keep all our health officials, medical professionals, volunteers and everyone involved in taking care of COVID-19 victims under his protection in Jesus name. Amen
In the next 6 days, I am taking you on a journey of the story of my life in the past 12 years about how I survived chronic financial lack, depression and suicidal tendencies, to unveil something on the 8th of April (which happens to be my 45th birthday.) It will be an interesting ride. Lets go
I started my banking career with First Bank of Nigeria Plc in 2001 and in 2006, I moved to Guaranty Trust Bank and this move came with a 125% increase in my annual salary. I was a Branch Operations Head in Guaranty Trust Bank and greatly
enjoyed my time there. Sometime in late 2007, a good friend of mine, Kayode Fadahunsi told me about BGL Securities Limited and asked me if I would be interested in moving over to them.
As at that time I had never heard of BGL and the first thing I thought was that they were a security outfit but he corrected me and said to me that BGL was a securities dealing organization that played in the Nigerian capital market and they were looking for experienced bankers who would help in building a very robust company; they were expanding.
I wasn’t really interested in a change of job because I loved my job at Guaranty Trust Bank Plc and I was well paid but out of curiosity I decided to give BGL a try; after all I had nothing to lose. I forwarded my CV to my friend and within 24 hours I was invited for an interview.
