Cont... So I tried name switching the ticket to my lad. I didn't wanna waste the ticket but this is where you can have as many cheap flights as you want, but if you wanna faff after, it's how Ryanair get you. €120 (£110) a name change. Price of buying a new ticket had gone to £150 return.
You can't just buy a kid ticket. You have to either buy one with an adult or buy an adult ticket and phone them up and pay £30 to change to a kid, they wouldn't let him board as an adult.
Even my step lad was talking about coming but he couldn't get the time off work.
Asked around mates, but for various reasons, nobody could come.
So the ticket never got used.
Anyway, turns out my mate Lew (who lives by Bristol) found £60 flights for the same days from Bristol to kraków.
I was flying from Birmingham to Katowice but he couldn't due to a wedding on the Saturday, the day after we came home. So he booked it and a new plan started to form.
As far as the flights go, he'd land 4 hours earlier and take off 4 hours earlier and katowice and kraków are only 58 miles apart. I'd already booked the car so we'd just meet.
My daughter still could of come, but a few days before we went I took her to docs and she'd got chicken pox/shingles so couldn't of come anyway.
I told her it had all got cancelled so she didn't feel bad on top of being ill. And I kept phoning the school from different countries.
Shame the way it went down, but some things aren't meant to be.
So, me and lew made a route that was a lot more hardcore involving a crazy amount of driving for the time there, but it was now shared.
I had to say to my daughter when she said she did then didn't want to come, look, if u change your mind this'll have to be part of your birthday present, but the fact she was ill its now not, I'm just paying for it, you can't help being ill. Very different to changing of minds.
Pictured is the original plan me and Becky would of done, 542 miles, her countdown app which I thought was sweet, and her poorly a few days before going :(
