I can easily look at my body and start picking it apart. I am quick to find the flaws and the things I want to change. Why is that? Why is it that we as a society (women and men) are so quick to tear down one of the most amazing things in this earth?
I am trying hard to change the tune in my head. My body is flawed, filled with imperfections and will never be #modelstatus. But that is okay! It is beautifully imperfect! It has danced, tumbled, lifted and tossed girls feet into the air, grown two humans and brought them into this world. It has rocked babies, run miles, hugged, loved and wiped tears. It has been broken and put back together. It is beautifully strong and perfectly imperfect.
Instead of picking it apart, let’s celebrate! I don’t need to be skinny, have great abs or be a certain number on the scale. Rather, I want to grow young and be surprisingly fit. When I am 60, I want to run a marathon. When I am 80, I want to light up the dance floor. I want to care for the one body I have been given, so I can have fun, live life to the fullest, grow young and be surprisingly fit.
I want my children to view their bodies as beautiful, powerful and one of the most amazing things in creation. I want them to see what this world would call a flaw, as something that sets them apart. I want them to grow young and live to the full!
That is why I am here, that is why I workout everyday. Even when the scale goes up, exhaustion sets in or progress seems non-existent. That is why I eat healthy(-ish), I want to fuel my body so I can fully enjoy the fun life brings!
I want to invite you to the same. Celebrate life by caring for the one body you have been given! I would love to have you join my community of women encouraging women to take care of themselves, to have fun, grow young and live life to the fullest! One of the best things I did for myself was jump into this community and start caring for my body. Won’t you join me?
