The hike that started with blowing out a tire on the way to another trail, but ended with just enough time to sneak in this quickie hike instead.
I didn’t get to snowshoe along a ridgeline with mountain views, but I’m honestly still so glad how good of a hike I got after a super quick turn around with replacing the tire. Especially when you consider that I was a mile away from a very remote trailhead when I got the flat, managed to find a couple dads to change the spare, drove 40 more miles (on the spare) to the nearest place that could change it, got it replaced, and the just-in-case backup hike I had downloaded on my phone wasn’t too far away.
So here’s a dusky Barclay lake. No snow, no glamourous views but also no flat tire on the way to the trailhead. I’ll take it.
