Today I started a new journey with my health & fitness. I reached out to NASM CPT and Fitness Nutrition Specialist Ashley Cates sweat.love.and.macros for help with my nutrition and fitness. I absolutely love to workout and find it very beneficial and rewarding not only physically but mentally as well. HOWEVER, I struggle big time with my nutrition. I am an emotional eater. Any feelings of heavy stress, sadness, or pressure and I instantly turn to food. I will eat till I make myself sick. I won't even be hungry but it's like I can't stop myself. It's a disorder that I deal with and it's the reason I have never been able to reach my goals because I constantly sabotage myself. Some may get where I'm coming from and some won't understand and that's ok. I reached out to Ashley who gave me some great advice on different techniques to try when under stress. I'm starting a plan on learning how to track my macros. Not restricting myself from foods that I love but label "unhealthy" but learning how to work them into my meal plans in a flexible way and learning how to eat properly to fuel myself throughout the day so that I don't feel hungry and binge out. Today was day 1 and it was a great day!! There’s nothing quite like Insanity to deflate the ego. No matter how many times I do it, I still always die. Race week means recovery speed miles, rest and reflection. As I prepare to toe the line of my 10th full marathon on Sunday I’m focusing on the present. What happens out there Sunday doesn’t define me as a person any more than one individual race has in the past. They are all pieces of a bigger picture - a journey not defined by one moment but all the moments one by one. Doesn’t mean I’m not going to get GRITTY out there in those moments, hopefully less than 3 hours 10 min of them. 😉💪🏼

Just to keep everyone up to date and informed as to why I’ve been slacking with the posts. A little over a month ago I separated my left shoulder at football practice and after recovering from that a few days later I got into a car accident, totaling my car and fracturing my spine. I was out of the gym completely for 3 weeks and in the gym limited for about 2 weeks. It’s going to be a slow recovery but I’ll try my best to keep updates coming. Oh man, I'm so happy I finally made it to the gym, seriously! 💪🏽 Being a mom of now 3 and managing and operating a business is challenging. So 🤔💭 technically I'm really a mommy of 4 🙃🤪. I'm slowly but surely getting a routine in place, in order for me to stay the course, it's a MUST I write my daily goals down and dominate them 💪🏽 I'm feeling pretty good about my achievements. . . BTW, I still hadn't eaten any chicken, beef, Turkey, or pork 🤮 since February 🙌🏽 and can you believe that I've lost a total of 70lbs 😱 I know RIGHT! Even my doctor was blown away. ☺ . .
