On Thursday, February 13, #FMFD B-shift #Engine11 & #Rescue11 were dispatched to a Cardiac Arrest at the City of Fort Myers Yacht Basin. Upon arrival, crews boarded a docked boat and found a pulseless woman. In a team effort, CPR was administered by @fmpolice, #FMFD, and @leecountyems. After two rounds of CPR and defibrillation, crews achieved return of spontaneous circulation, and packaged patient for transport to the hospital. These stories usually end after transferring patient care to the hospital. Leaving first responders with an unknown conclusion. Yesterday morning, after completing an assignment at Gulf Coast Medical Center, #Rescue11 crew went to check on their patient. They were overjoyed to meet Lyn Spalding. Lyn and her husband are snowbirds from England and call Fort Myers their second home. Doctors said she is on pace for a full recovery and will be able to return back home to England soon. In September of this year, our new #FMFDFamily members plan on returning to the City of Fort Myers and are excited to meet the rest of the team that was a part of her life-saving efforts.
