ROCKY • 7yo male • Schnauzer
"I adopted Rocky when he was just 6 months old. He was given away by a family who had to vacate their rented house in a short period of time. The family couldn’t bring Rocky along to the new place as they already have 3 other dogs to take care of. So I took him home and because he looked really sad and confused, I told him ‘it’s alright, you have me.’ At the start, Rocky was very restless and refused to eat his food. So I brought him to the vet and that was when I found out he had contracted tick fever and was so close to losing his life due to very low red blood cell count. Fortunately, he recovered shortly after all the medication and vet visits. Now, he eats like there’s no tomorrow.
One time, I quarrelled with my brother and ended up crying. Rocky saw and immediately came to me and placed his paw on my thigh, as though he was trying to console me. Like it was his turn to tell me, ‘it’s alright, you have me.’”
