True #Story/Long story: I think I slept maybe 3 hours last night. Why you ask? Well Nova woke us up a few times with diarrhea again, so naturally I was worked up and anxious about that. Then I had a dream that I got in a car accident and lost Jarred (lost him in the sense that he was a dog who ran off and I just couldn't track him down- it's a dream, don't ask).
And then, just as I was falling back asleep, our neighborhood #barredowls decided to have a 4 hour courting/mating session outside our window. Yes, that is why I never got back to sleep...owl sex. People say, wow, you must live in the country, nope! St. Louis just happens to have very horny city owls.
This had me in a pretty piss-poor #mood this morning and I had to take a moment to feel my #feelings, and take some deep breaths and have some alone time. So, I sat in my room and looked out the window and watched those horny love birds soar from tree to #tree, their massive and silent wings cutting through the #branches and in between houses. Those owls have no understanding of what is going on in our world other than they need to #survive moment to moment. They have to respond to each #challenge that is presented to them when it comes. My mind got right, my tensions eased.
When I was ready, I opened my email to start my day and I see that I have a very complimentary email from a person at my company who never hands out compliments. WOW, amazing!! What a perfect email to receive at the moment I needed it most. In one hour my mood went from doom and gloom to a place of content and #gratitude.
I see you, the ones that are struggling, the ones that are on the front lines, the ones with lost jobs. I feel with you, the anxieties, the uncertainties, the frustrations. I encourage you today to look outside at the #birds, the #squirrels, the trees, whatever is out your #window and remember that we all have the choice on how we see the world, how we see ourselves, and how we rise up to challenges.
Stay well #friends!🦉
