If I had to choose one type of plant, for a complete novice to grow, that in a way does'nt need constant attention, specific requirements or difficult regimes to follow. In a way it can be neglected, without being too detrimental to it in the long run.
They are the perfect plants to learn about propagation, dividing etc. There is a good variety to keep people interested enough and also very versitile as to what you can do with them, or where and how to plant them.
They also don't seem to be top, of your favourite garden pest's midnight menu.
One to watch out for though, is the white grub like larve of the Vine Weevil. They live in the soil and eat the roots completely. Thus killing the plant, literally before you even notice a problem, if not careful that is!! Other than that, you can't go wrong with Sempervivums. In my opinion that is!!! ozzymcfc amazing_pics bns_flowers rsa_flowers rsa_photo_of_the_day sempervivum_perfection instanature macro_addicts_anonymous sempervivum_addicts splendid_shotz succulent_perfection global_nature earthpix sempervivum_macro petal_perfection flower_stalking rsa_nature macro_perfection bns_sempervivum rsa_macro macrophotography hens_and_chicks
