Just because a person looks like they let the light inside, doesn’t mean they’re ready to let the love inside. Most people live inside a bubble to protect themselves because of past trauma. And when certain triggers set them off, intense feelings of the past can fire up again causing them to hurt themselves or others with just their words. When you meet these people, it’s important to remind them how much you care and how much you stand by them. It’s important to let them know how important it is to you that you’ll never leave them abandoned or unprotected. So the red balloons represent love trying to make its way inside. And the bubble represents what nobody sees, only the person inside is aware of the bubble. The red and black balloon represents the extreme of the emotional spectrum. The stabbing of the balloon represents how real self protection is. And her look represents the mask hiding the trauma away inside. (She’s not happy or sad). All of this ran through my head when I edited this thinking about my family. We all have trauma in some way.
