Time for some Friday 'REAL TALK' ⚠️ long post ALERT!! ✔ IMO, it's ok if your goal is to look better!! First up let's be clear, I am 100% in support of improving health, becoming stronger, be a great role model for your kids, heart health, building confidence etc etc... however ➡️ In my personal experience sometimes the goal of looking better is scoffed at or avoided in the media.... I have, on multiple occasions been criticized for focusing on my aesthetics! ➡️ Well I am ok admitting that my goals are, partly aesthetic. There is a certain amount of muscle and body fat that I like to have - I still understand all the benefits of exercise and nutrition after 20 years in the industry and my aesthetic goals, no longer come before health!! TBH most the time they go hand in hand - mental and physically.
The way I look, my body shape is improtant to ME! I like the way it makes ME feel!
The difference between 20 years ago and now is I now do it for ME!! Not other people! ➡️ I'm 100% sure there is some deep rooted reason behind this, likely my overweight childhood and need for acceptance as a teenager and young adult! (any psychologist reading this are having a field day right now!! 🤣🤣) I do not expect my clients goals to be my goals, and I don't necessarily understand everyone's goals either and that's cool!!
Remember this ➡️ never feel bad for the goals you want to achieve, just seek to understand them better!
